Spelling Bee

The district spelling bee will be held at Summerville High School on Thursday, January 15th at 10 AM.


Food Drive

Please bring in non-perishable food items from now until Friday, November 21st.  Our goal is to have 1,000 items to help the needy!

PTSA Reflections Contest
Encourage your child to explore the arts by participating in this year's PTSA Reflections contest.  The 2014-2015 theme is "The World would be a better place if...". Students may submit more than one entry in each of the 6 categories: Dance Choreography, Photography, Film Production, Muscial Composition, Visual Arts, and Literature.  The deadline for submissions is December 3, 2014.  The American Heart Association has given Alston a Gold Achievement award for being a Fit-Friendly Worksite.

Community Meetings on Proposed Bell Schedule Change

Parents and community members are invited to attend one or more of seven scheduled meetings on porposed changes in the school bell schedules for Dorchester District Two schools.  All meetings are scheduled from 6:30-7:30 PM. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about proposed changes and to provide input. Public feedback will play an important role in finalizing the proposal to be presented to the Board of Trustees in December.
